Poiana Brasov
Poiana Brasov is probably the most popular ski resort in Romania. Tourists from all over the world come here every year to take advantage of the great variety of slopes, which are perfect for skiing and for many other winter sports. Poiana Brasov is located near the historic medieval city of Brasov at an altitude of 1,200 m. It has 12 easy to difficult slopes, the longest being Drumul Rosu (4,600 m). And your team can hop in two aerial tramways, one gondola and eight ski lifts. They'll have plenty of photo opportunities, because Poiana Brasov is surrounded by four splendid mountains: Postavaru (1,799 m), Piatra Craiului (2,238 m), Bucegi (2,505 m) and Piatra Mare (1,848 m). There are also many world-famous hotels and restaurants, such as Sura Dacilor Restaurant and Capra Neagra Restaurant.
Sinaia
Sinaia is a popular destination for winter sports, especially downhill skiing. The resort is located in Prahova Valley and is surrounded by three mountains: Varful cu Dor, Furnica and Piatra Arsa. There are six easy to difficult slopes, the longest being Drumul Vechi (5,000 m). The expert skier has much to look forward to. Some slopes, such as Carp, are extremely challenging and quite an adrenaline rush. Sinaia is serviced by an aerial tramway and a modern ski lift. There are also many historical and cultural sights within easy reach. Among the most important are Peles Castel, Pelisor Castle and Sinaia Monastery.
Predeal
Predeal is the highest town in Romania, located at an altitude between 1033 and 1110 m. Predeal is also an important ski resort encircled by five charmingly wild mountains: Postavarul, Piatra Mare, Bucegi, Baiului and Fitifoi. The 10 available slopes are sure to please the winter sports enthusiasts. All are great for a variety of sports including cross-country skiing, snowboarding and tubing. The slopes in Predeal are suitable for all skiers, regardless their skill level. Not to mention that three of the slopes have been internationally awarded.
